What is a Virtual Assistant?
A Virtual Assistant (or VA) is a business owner providing professional level administrative, marketing, operations, technical or creative assistance to clients. Virtual assistants work from their own office.
Common modes of communication and data delivery include the Internet, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), email, conference calls and fax.
Virtual assistants are an independent contractor, who set their own rates, operating standards and policies. A Virtual assistant does not have to be physically located in your office to be effective and can do almost everything an administrative assistant can, except bring you a cup of coffee.
Why hire a Virtual Assistant?
A Virtual assistant is not an employee. A virtual assistant literally assists you virtually. Unlike an onsite employee, supervision is not required, a regular salary and benefits are not required and you do not have to adjust your schedule for our lunch break.
A virtual assistant can help any size business, from a home-based business that lacks the skills necessary to compete in today's business atmosphere, to large companies that do not want to hire another temp who might not work out.
